Stitching the Textured Surface by Lynda Monk & Carol McFee ISBN: 978-0-9555371-4-1 Published by d4daisy books (softback) ![]() NOW AVAILABLE Mixed media is such a popular concept and these two authors are masters of their craft. Amazing surfaces are constructed with gesso and molding paste. However, what makes this book unique are the ideas and techniques for colouring and stitching these surfaces. Lynda and Carol have produced new ideas for working in mixed media. Their surfaces are layered, often distressed, always intriguing and forming a complex textile which belies the simplicity of its construction. They also make full use of materials such as Lutradur and Tyvek with some new and exciting ideas. Best of all, you don't need to be an artist as fantastic surfaces grow from stencils and stamps. Whether you are a paper-crafter, book-maker, textile artist or quilter, your work will never be the same. £17.00 plus £2.00 p&p per book in the UK. If outside Great Britain, add a further £4.00 per book airmail. When available, order online from d4daisy books through their secure site. |
Stitches, Straps & Layers by Maggie Grey ISBN: 978-0-9555371-3-4 Published by d4daisy books (softback) ![]() NOW AVAILABLE In these difficult times, we all need to be more aware of the resources to be found within our cupboards, stashes and workrooms. This book looks at exciting ways of using this treasure trove by building from the bottom up. Backgrounds and layers provide a base for stitch and make the sometimes difficult job of designing textiles much easier. Maggie says: 'This book has been a delight. I set myself a challenge to use what I had or what I could find at no cost. In the process, I discovered the joys of making and using straps. Initially, these were borders but they grew into vessels, book-covers and many other finished pieces - a whole new way of working.' £19.00 plus £2.00 p&p per book in the UK. If outside Great Britain, add a further £4.00 per book airmail. Order online from d4daisy books through their secure site. |

Founder of Opus, the only distance learning site which provides a degree course, Julia is recognised as a master of colour. This richly illustrated book is not only visually beautiful and inspirational, but also provides the reader with new ways of learning and studying the art of colour. Textile artist, Julia Caprara, introduces her own unique approach to colour and stitch and invites the reader to share some of the highlights of her own studies on the path of colour.
